Likkutei Sichos
Likkutei Sichos present the most accessible form of the Rebbe's thought, and its practical application.
Welcome to Likkutei Sichos
Likkutei Sichos (lit., Collected Talks) is the collection of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s edited talks, covering a wide range of topics. The weekly Torah portion, Jewish holidays, Jewish law and customs, Jewish history and current events, morality, faith, and Chassidic philosophy are just a few of the many themes that the Rebbe addresses.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe is widely recognized as one of the foremost leaders of world Jewry, and Likkutei Sichos is from the most authoritative source text for the Rebbe's original and often revolutionary explanations on Torah and Judaism.
The Development of Likkutei Sichos
The Rebbe would primarily convey his teachings at the farbrengens (Chassidic gatherings) held on Shabbos, festivals, and special occasions in the Chabad calendar, at which he would often speak for many hours.
Of the many thousands of talks that the Rebbe delivered, a number of them were selected to be edited. After a team of scholars prepared the initial draft, the Rebbe reviewed and extensively edited each of these transcriptions before they were printed.
Originally these edited talks appeared in weekly pamphlets, but later they were published in 39 volumes as Likkutei Sichos.
These edited Sichos represent much of the Rebbe’s fundamental teachings and unique spiritual voice for the generation.
Project Likkutei Sichos
Project Likkutei Sichos is a grassroots initiative, launched to encourage people worldwide to unite in a coordinated and consistent regimen of learning Likkutei Sichos every week, with the goal of completing all 1,227 Sichos in approximately 8 years.
This initiative offers a plethora of resources and tools to assist everyone in joining, regardless of background or level of Torah knowledge and training.
While you can certainly learn Sichos on your own schedule, there is a unique beauty and unifying force inherent in the concept of learning the same Sichos as thousands of others each week.
Sichos in Your Chayenu
Today, your Chayenu features a weekly summary of a Sicha translated by Rabbi Eli Block following the Project Likkutei Sichos study schedule. This summary beautifully encapsulates one of the Sichos of the week, which can serve as a weekly review for the original Sicha.
